Let's Talk About Waist Beads & the meaning of the "Evil Eye"

Why use Waist Beads?

Waist Beads can be used for many reasons. My intentions behind adding Waist Beads to our store is to spread Body Positivity and Self-Love. I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful in their skin, why not dress it up with beautiful beads?!

Top 3 Reasons to wear Waist Beads:

  • FASHION: Some people choose to wear Waist Beads as a fashion choice. If you like to change your beads often, I recommend Stretch w/Clasp options.
  • HEALTH/WEIGHTLOSS: Some choose to wear Waist beads for weight/health reasons. Tie-On Waist beads are meant for long-term wear. It gives you a way to monitor your weight without a scale. If you loose weight, your beads will get loos and slide down whereas if you gain weight, the beads slide up and feel tighter. Simply cut off the beads if they get too big or too small.
  • MANIFESTING: One other reason people use Waist Beads for manifesting. Essentially, manifestation is bringing something tangible into your life through attraction and belief, i.e. if you think it, and it will come. The same principle can be used for other Bead Jewelry! (Check out our collection of Anklets & Bracelets!) ***See below for Manifesting Bead Color Meanings!***

Choose between TIE-ON or STRETCH w/Clasp.

TIE-ON strands standard size is 47" and is adjustable to your body. Simply slide off the extra beads to fit your needs! Made with extra-strong thread and designed for long-term use. Make sure to tie a strong knot before trimming off the excess string.

STRETCH w/Clasp strands are made to order & require your measurements. Made with elastic thread. Use the clasp to remove the jewelry.

How to Measure your Waist:

Please note, clasp will measure about 1/2". Allow some wiggle room so the beads are no too tight.

WARNING: Discontinue use immediately if beads are too tight, cause discomfort or skin irritation. Keep out of reach of children & pets. Do not eat.

Manifesting Bead Color Meaning:

The Evil Eye:

If you haven't already noticed, I use "Evil Eye" bead & charms in many of my jewelry designs.

HISTORY: The Nazar Boncuk charm (or Turkish Eye Bead) is an "eye", often set on a blue background (BUT has many color variations available). It is thought to stare back at the world to ward off the evil eye and keep you safe from harm. Since then the people have been attaching this Turkish evil eye bead to everything they wished to protect from the evil eyes.

Although the original idea behind the Evil Eye is for protection, there are additional believed properties for each color available.
